Fitting Tips
Step 1: Measure Your Bite
Use the included gauge to measure the space between the top and bottom gums of your front two teeth.
- We all have different bite sizes - it is determined by teeth alignment, not body size
- Most people do not need the insert, but confirming is critical for maximum effectiveness
- Only use the insert if you fall into the RED section of the gauge
- If on the black line or BLUE area, you DO NOT need the insert
Step 2: Heat and Mold
Use barely boiling water (not roiling):
- Without insert: 12 seconds in water
- With insert: 15 seconds (ensure insert is fully snapped in)
- Use tongs to remove quickly
- Shake off excess water, wait a few seconds
- Mold to LOWER teeth, make kissing motion, swallow 5 times
Step 3: Adjust and Perfect Fit
- Should fit snugly without moving
- Do NOT wear an upper mouthguard with NeuroGuard+
- Too long? Trim back 1/4 inch, reheat for 3 seconds
- Uncomfortable on gums? Trim the clear bottom part
- Rough spots? Use a nail file to smooth
- Not soft enough? Reheat specific sections for 5 seconds
Maintenance and Replacement
- Replace yearly or when teeth change
- Get new one after braces removal
- Children: Replace when adult teeth come in
